The class meets from 10:00-10:50 MWRF in Regina 152.
You will need the following books for this course:
- Hacker, Diana. Rules for Writers. 5th ed. New York: Bedford/St. Martin’s, 2004.
- McKenna, George and Stanley Feingold, eds. Taking Sides: Clashing Views on Political Issues. 15th ed. Dubuque, Iowa: McGraw-Hill, 2007. (Be sure to get the expanded edition. The ISBN is 9780073515144.)
I recommend, but do not require, that you pick up a copy of Michael Harvey’s The Nuts and Bolts of College Writing. (Indianapolis: Hackett, 2003). It is a solid, very readable guide to good writing style. Alternatively, you might check out the book’s website.
If you misplace your copy of the syllabus, you can find another copy here: Political Issues W Fall 2007 syllabus
